Pictures of 6-month-old Princess Aiko released

TOKYO — The Imperial Household Agency on Thursday released pictures and video footage of 6-month-old Princess Aiko, showing the little princess is growing steadily.

Princess Aiko, who can now sit up straight by herself, is shown playing cheerfully with a stuffed toy animal in the pictures taken on June 19. In the video footage, the baby is shown happily playing with her father, Crown Prince Naruhito.

The princess, the first child of Crown Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako, now weighs about 8 kilograms and is almost 69 centimeters tall, according to the agency. (Kyodo News)
