Cube conundrum

If you thought matching six colors on the Rubik's Cube was challenging, wait until you get your hands on the Rainbow Cube.

This cuboctahedron puzzle was developed by scientists studying the structure of crystals, so it replicates the atomic layers of gold, silver and copper with six squares and eight triangles rotating around four axes.

Although the instructions for playing Rainbow Cube come in English and Japanese, there is, sadly, no easy solution.
