OSAKA — Foreign-language school
operator Nova Co said Tuesday it will begin using a fiber-optic network
next Monday in classes for students taking lessons at home.
The new service will use the fiber-optic network run by
K-Opticom Corp, a telecom subsidiary of Kansai Electric Power Co, and
Internet protocol videophones provided by Gingnet Corp.
The network covers the Kansai region with Osaka at the
center.
While Nova currently offers such lessons via the
integrated services digital network, the fiber-optic network will make
lessons closer to reality, company officials said.
Nova has some 360,000 students across Japan and about
100,000 of them take lessons at home. (Kyodo News) |
